Shakespeare, Romeo & Juliet
Not exactly a cheerful opening quote I admit but relevant to some of my photos today.
Greetings friends, I hope your year is off to a wondrous, kind and gracious start? We’re currently in a cold-snap, it was -3C earlier nothing compared to some of my Stateside friends but for some odd reason cold always seems colder here 🇬🇧
I would love to see your wintry snaps, do post them in the comment section.
I have some December - January snaps to share today. We just celebrated my daughter’s 25th birthday. I found a vintage hand painted 1950’s display cabinet for her. Zoe collects vintage coloured glass so when I saw this piece on Facebook Marketplace I jumped at it.
The hand painted detail is exquisite. I had to replace the blown bulbs and put a new wall plug on the wiring but was greatly relieved and delighted when it sprang to glorious life.
The previous owner had passed away at the ripe old age of 97 despite being a chain smoker for most of those years. It took me several deep cleans to removes the tar and longer to flush the smell from the wood.
I Thought I’d have some fun and wrap Zoe’s other presents and place them inside, then wrapped the actual cabinet up 😁
