Sometimes only you and the Lord (and hopefully one or two trusted friends), will ever know the extent of the suffering you’re navigating. I think of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane, sweating in prayer with drops like blood, his two sleepy bros nearby, yet able to undergo the darkness ahead.

An excerpt from my Morning Pages.

“Yesterday was a good day, my mind was settled, my inner landscape stable. The time I spent yesterday in Morning Pages really helped to steady my focus by putting onto paper the various thoughts I’m mulling.

‘WRITE YOUR PAIN, RIGHT YOUR PAIN’

This variation on something Julia Cameron wrote is proving true for me.

So I got to thinking and processing through writing, all the ways I’ve experienced strength during a season of suffering.

Where does my strength come from? How have I managed to keep going one more day, day after day after day?”

I heard this said the other day -

“Strength doesn't mean you’re not tired. It doesn't mean you’re not exhausted. It just means that you have the strength to keep going.” ~ unknown

Here are my thoughts, they’re not exhaustive or prescriptive, they're simply a reminder. Don’t write me and ask why God isn’t at the top of the list, there is no list. I don’t see this as linear or a hierarchy, more like a fluid circle of God-given graces working together in one cooperative, holistic motion. You’re welcome to add your own. I hope it encourages you.
